I bought myself a wire stripper from Ebay for removing copper from insulated wire. When I was stripping the power cable of an old microwave, I notice the insulation was covered in a white powder. Asbestos?

NO, NOT asbestos.
It's basically talcum powder, to keep the conductors from sticking to the insulation.
