A device must be associated with a Google Voice number. It can be a cell phone AND/OR an Obihai adapter. For a "home phone/landline replacement", the GV number would be associated with an Obihai adapter. Then any home phone (wired or wireless) can be plugged into the Obihai adapter. This setup results in a home phone that uses the internet (VOIP) with no monthly charge.

Good luck getting your cell fixed during this pandemic! It's not a priority business.

I have two cell phones. One is strictly used on wifi with free text/cell . That's my home phone in essences. It's an older phone yet it does the same thing as its meant to do ! Talk or text.
My take with me phone is my android. Actually am less apt to utilize all its features cuz there is more important things then to be tied to a device.

I miss the landlines. Primarily for the fact I could hear folks better. Cell lines can drop calls .

I can't remember the last time my 'cell line' dropped a call.
