Camera automatically set it to an up-side-down mode.

Google result says to use video editing software. This is not viable... Too much effort, and I don't know if I'd lose resolution.

Is there an easy way to just flip for the viewing?

Turn your monitor upside down? lol. j/k

VLC can do that and a lot of other things, it's a free program.

That works; thank you.

Playing inverted makes video a bit choppy... maybe it's my computer.

You are welcome.

It is probably taking extra processing to flip and play it which may explain the choppiness.

There are adjustments that can be made to fix it.

Here are some ways you can fix it, if this doesn't help you can google for more.

Find out what the native orientation of the camera is and always use that.

This can be difficult to explain but the raw video file is not flipped if the camera is upside down, for example if you flipped a film camera the negative is upside down. Same thing applies here.

With digital you can apply an orientation flag, "this side up". As long as the software you are using to display it supports the flag it will rotate it and use the right orientation. If it doesn't support the flag or if the flag is lost during conversion for example the raw orientation is used which is upside down if that is how it was recorded.

Same thing applies to photos.

OK I have to explore this further. My camera which is Olympus TG-Tracker just seems to follow it's own logic.

I initially watched the video with invert setting, and the video was a bit choppy. I thought it was because the video was being played invertly.

So then I use VLC to convert the 29 min video, and saved a new file. When playing the new, right-side up video, I observed that the video is still choppy. Apparently this choppiness is not due to the play mode.

As a verification, I played it with Windows Media Player, and sure enough it is smooth.

Is VLC known to experience choppiness under certain circumstances?
