I'm always lookin for ways to cut the cable. I currently have Netflix, Disney Plus and Amazon Prime. Now, I'm looking at getting a streaming device that I can connect to my LG tv. What are my options and will it be easy to set up? Keep in mind that the LG tv is located in the living room and the router is in my bedroom. I don't know if that is important to know or not. Anyway, I need your guy's help and thank you!

You realistically have 3 choices.

Roku
Amazon Fire TV
Apple TV

If you are in the Apple ecosystem the last one is a good solution, but if not I wouldn’t bother.

More people prefer Roku, so perhaps try a Roku Streaming Stick Plus. Around $40 and gives you 4K (if your TV supports it)

The Amazon Fire 4K Stick isn’t a bad choice either.

If you look at both and don’t have a strong preference try the one that is on sale or cheaper.

I doubt that my tv will support 4K because I believe I bought it back in 2010. I'm leaning towards getting Roku since it has Hulu on it.

If its a 2010 TV, buy the cheapest non 4k Roku stick or Firestick you can find and call it a day. I think the Roku interface is easier to use but that's a personal taste matter.

Hulu can be watched on any device. By way of example, I have Apple TV and Amazon Fire Sticks in my home and Hulu on all of them.

Many prefer the interface of Roku.

I'd still get the 4K version for an extra few bucks - might have a faster processor which could translate to a more responsive menu. Plus if you get a new 4K tv it's ready to go. I do know that the Streaming Stick+ also has better WiFi specs.

If your 2010 LG has a free HDMI port, then a streamer stick should work. I use an Amazon Fire stick with my 2009 and 2011 Panasonics, and it works fine.

I discovered that my Xbox One can be used as a streaming device. I already installed Amazon Prime and Hulu on it. I will be installing Netflix and Disney Plus on it later. This is gonna be so awesome!
