We have Comcast for Cable and have 2 TV on different floors.
When I was talking to the Rep about our bill going up he suggested I return one of the set top boxes we have and get 10/month back. He suggested I get a Roku.
So we have large set top box in family room.
and a small thing about the size of a large cell phone attached to the TV in the bedroom. This is the thing I need to return. (BTW I have an AppleTV as well with which I watch Apple TV, Netflix etc.)
With Roku he said I can download Xfinity Streaming and we can watch all the programs we get with the Comcast box.
We have basic cable with MSNBC.
What kind of Roku should I get - simple and cheap is what I want.
Is it simple to take this "box" out and attach the Roku and would we be able to watch all the programs we always got?
I am sorry if this is not clear and let me know what information I am missing.
Thank you.

This is the cheapest one you should consider, to be future-safe. It's on sale again, so I'd jump on it quickly: https://www.amazon.com/Roku-Streamin...ef_=ast_sto_dp

I don't have Comcast, so I can't answer the other questions.

Yes, to actually answer the question.
Buy the one Mike linked, that is a good one. Connect to your TV. Set it up. Very simple couple of steps. It will ask for you to add a credit card. That's only in case you WANT to purchase something. Then go to the Streaming Channel 'store' in the Roku and find the Spectrum app Mark shared. Install. Login. Bam = cable w/no monthly charges.

You save on the additional outlet fee, for now, but be aware of future changes/charges.
From the link above....
"Is there an additional charge for using a Partner Device?
There's no additional charge for using the Xfinity Stream app on Partner Devices. All other fees associated with your service will still apply, except during the beta trial, we're waiving the "additional outlet" service charge if you use the Stream app on a Partner Device. Pricing may change in the future."

I returned one of the set top boxes so the $10 is coming off but my total bill has gone up. Cant win.
I don't feel like buying a Roku stick because I already have an Apple TV. Of course Comcast does not work with Apple TV, only Roku. I will stay with what I get on Apple TV. I found out I can watch on xifinity app on my Ipad, although it is also Apple. But cannot bounce it on to my TV.
