Canon printer doesn't recognize refilled ink cartridge (flashing, cost, Walmart)

My Canon printer doesn't recognize I refilled the ink cartridge. It stopped working. I followed some advice online and now it works, but it still flashes the little light. Is there any definite way to get it to think I changed the cartridge.

Another question : Are all printer ink refills basically the same? I see on Amazon that there's ink for all the different printer brands, but I don't understand why the ink that works for one printer can't be used to refill any printer cartridge, as long as it's the same color.

That's why I don't use refilled ink cartridges. Because cartridges are designed to not recognize that they're refilled by some other company.

It doesn't recognize it, but it still works. I pressed the Stop button for about 10 seconds and then turned it off and unplugged it. I restarted it a few times and it did the trick , and started printing again.

There's no way I can afford the printer cartridges with as much ink as I use. The ink refills are absolutely fantastic. For one bottle that costs about $10.00, I can refill it 4 or 5 times. The quality of the ink is exactly as you would get from the cartridges . The cartridge manufacturers are in the business of making as much money as possible, not giving people a break. And as long as a person follows the instructions, there is no reason an able adult can't do it and save tons of money at the same time.

It's not a problem. What I was wondering is if there's a hack of some sort to get it to stop flashing the little light. It's just a small annoyance , not a deal-breaker, though.

Ounce for ounce it costs less to buy drugs on the street than buy ink cartridges.

The reason for your problem is that the cartridge has a computer chip that tells the printer when the cartridge is empty. That chip doesn't get reset when you refill it with ink. Manufacturers know how to either reset the chip or replace it.

Consider going to a laser printer. I bought one at Walmart for $50. Toner cartridges are 2 for $23 on eBay and Amazon and I print about 550 full pages per cartridge.

At least yours works
Mine will frequently just stop working after replacing cartridge. It seems to lose the network and can never get restarted
I’ve spent weeks on it sometimes
The last two times it happened I had success with uninstalling and deleting all the drivers.
That may work for you but it also may open a whole new canna worms
