Back in 2018 I had an Amazon fire. I had photos on it, which I want. It broke down, I presume a dead battery, in 2019. I bought a new one (e-reader). This past week, I bought another one, on a super discount. When I start it up, it asks me, if I want to restore all the apps from my first Fire/kindle. I said yes, but due to the sucky internet ( very slow service) it is unable to download the old apps.
My question is, will it also download the photos, or just old apps? I can go to Starbucks or somewhere for a faster download, if the photos would be downloaded. I am not bothered about the old apps, I can install the ones I want over time.

You would need to install a cloud photos backup solution on your old one (if possible), then install the same app on the new one.
The alternative would be to connect via USB, transfer photos from the old tablet to PC, then copy back out to the new tablet.

Thank you both. Well I have a happy update. I turned on my new Fire tablet, without any restoration, & once it opened I saw I had the amazon photos icon, so I clicked it, & found my missing photos from 2018. It never occurred to me to look at amazon photos, as I normally use the google photo app.
