Just bought a new iPad and an Apple magic keyboard and I’ve had issues with the iPad not taking a charge, on several occasions.

I called support and they had me quickly do a reset using the volume controls and the home button and now it’s charging properly.

Has anyone else experienced this as I’m wondering if this will be a continual issue?

We don't have that exact (new) iPad but we have found that overall Apple products need this kind of forced reset just as often as any other electronics...which is not frequently but definitely periodically.

Sounds like you had to recalibrate the battery, so the OS could recognize when it needed to be charged. Even if it is a chronic issue with the battery, you will have to go through Apple support enough times to convince them to replace it under warranty. But if it needs a replacement, rather than replace your battery, they'll likely swap you into a new device.

Interesting and I really appreciate the response and info. I guess it will take some time and more calls to Apple support if the problem continues to happen. The first time that it didn’t charge, I just unplugged the charger and cord and re-plugged it and then it worked but like you stated, it wasn’t being recognized! Thanks again.
