Just general usage for household applications, for light fixtures, lamps, etc.
I'm asking for another member who has a thread elsewhere, but I think it might
be more appropriate here.

Ummm, I've become more interested in them recently. Interesting little puppies. I've got one that is UV, and a few that I use for night reading lights, and have played a bit with them in art lamps. IMO, they make more sense for a lot of apps than CFLs. However, they are intolerant to voltage issues.

Yeah, but at least if you break one you don't need a hazmat team to clean up the mess
