Firstly, let me admit I'm very technically challenged. I have a satellite dish for my TV programming and I have no idea how this technology works. What I do know is that a week ago the access card in my receiver box died on me and tech support promised to send me a new one. (To arrive in 2-3 business days which is now 4 days and, so far, it hasn't arrived.) In addition, two days ago the receiver box suddenly switched itself off and won't turn back on again no matter what we try. Tech Support won't send me a replacement until the new access card arrives, is inserted and activated, as they seem to think this will turn the receiver box back on.
Are they correct? Or will I definitely need a new receiver box at this point?
Word To The Wise: if your satellite receiver box stops working DO NOT wait for a new access card to arrive and expect it to fix the problem. You WILL need a new receiver box as well!
Ah, crud. Sorry, chiaili. Was this Dish network or Directv?
DirecTV. I think I just had a newbie at the tech support line cause when I called back 2 days later and spoke to a supervisor she was very surprised to hear I'd been told that. Hopefully she didn't lose her job but it was annoying as I then didn't get the replacement receiver until yesterday and I could've had it by Thursday last week.
