Wednesday’s rains were particularly destructive in Putnam County, where widespread flooding knocked a home off its foundation, washed out a bridge and derailed a train.

The flooding began Tuesday morning, as calls swamped the county’s 911 Center for water rescues.

Our neighbor called us to say that our road washed out. He called the Road Department, who said that they were flooded (No pun intended) with calls. The pictures posted by the local paper were incredible.

Thankfully, it's not as bad as the floods that hit Nashville back in May. But it's still borderline catastrophic (certainly for some people). This article in the Herald-Citizen has some additional pics:

It's so surreal to see Echo Valley Pool and Willow Avenue completely submerged. Upperman High School's auditorium was flooded and looked like pictures from the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville's flood.

I have to go out and look at a home on Plunk Watson Rd to see if I can write coverage on it. Hope I can get thru ok, that area seems to have been hit pretty hard.

I hope all is well for everyone in Cookeville.....
The local news here in Florida said today at noon the the Cumberland River over flowed it's banks and flooded Cookeville.??? I didn't thing the Cumberland River was that close too Cookeville. I could be wrong ? I'm a senior with senior moments...
