My wife and I have spent close to a week in Cookeville. We checked out dining, shopping,and the general area. We concluded there are restaurants galore. Cookeville has all the amenities of shopping anyone would find in a bigger city( Lowe's, Sam's, Kroger, Aldi's, Food Lion, Kohl's, JCPenney, Sears, CATO, Bath & Body Works, Dollar General, KMart). The only two I would have liked to find was Target and Best Buy. I believe I can live without those two. Cookeville offers friendliness and charm of a small town but it feels as though you're in a big town. Everywhere we went, people said, " welcome to Cookeville. You will love it here." We met a number of couples from other states that were looking to relocate in the area and they loved it as much as we did. My wife went by Tennessee Tech University to talk about enrolling in classes and the people there were also extremely warm and inviting and so helpful. We wanted to rent a house for under $750 but the houses we saw at that price were a little rough. Apartments are extremely rare and hard to come by but we found a beautiful townhouse for $630 a month. Gems can be found but it will take time and effort to find them.We will be moving in July. In conclusion, we are excited about making Cookeville our home.
