Take W. 12th St./Gainesboro Grade west from Tech campus. Cross into Jackson County, turn right on Cummins Mill Rd.(beside Allen's Market, before you get to hwy. 56). Go a couple of miles, you'll start down a hill and go over a bridge(bridge crosses Blackburn Fork Creek that the falls are on). Just as soon as you cross the bridge there's a parking area on your left. Park and walk back over the bridge and there are trails that run through the woods that take you to the falls. It's definitely still open, or at least people are going there. I would expect a good crowd tomorrow(10/09) with the nice weather.
There are no signs or markers but if you follow these directions you should have no trouble finding it.

Have fun!

A secret spot in Cookeville. A place too walk..reflect..read and take in what Tennessee is all about. The path as I understand leads too 2 small water falls.

Are dogs (on leash) allowed on this trail?

This is at Cookeville City Lake. Yes dogs are allowed unless they have changed that since I was there. They really fixed this area up. Its a nice trail.
Popcorn. I dont know where you are staying on your trip, but this area is just across the hwy from whats now the alpine Inn.

Like 2mares stated I guess it's OK. Find the Alpine and then go past it. The Citgo Station turn left..that is a sweeping left curve and also goes stright 1/4mile on the left just before narrow bridge.
