Hi I was wondering if anyone was a LPN and if they knew what was the average pay for an LPN in the cookeville area. Also, where are the best paid companies to work for. I know where I am it is state facilities such as psychiatric hospitals and homes, state prisons, etc. I was wondering if anyone had recommendation on best paying places and if you could give me an idea on what the pay was like per hour. Thanks so much.

There is a state-run mental health facility in Cookeville that serves the 14-county Upper Cumberland region. It's called Plateau Mental Health Center. I can't find a web site for it.

Cookeville Regional Medical Center is the local hospital. Its web site shows that there are currently 55 clinical job openings and another 10 non-clinical. Its web site:
Welcome to Cookeville Regional Medical Center — Growing for you.

There are dozens of other clinics and doctors' offices in Cookeville and more under construction. It really is the medical hub for the entire region, and the hospital is the largest non-metropolitan hospital in the state, employing something like 1600 people. I'm sorry that I don't know how much LPNs are paid, but it doesn't look like you'll have any problems finding a job in Cookeville.

Hi, I'm also a nurse hoping to move to Cookeville. Did you make the move and if so did you find a job you like?
I would appreciate any info you have on health care jobs in that area.

Cumberland Medical Center is in Crossville which is 30 miles[more or less] from Cookeville. LPN new grads are being offered $10/hour. Agencys here are having a difficult time providing full time employees FT work right now[Quality & Careall are the 2 main ones in this area] Take a really good look before you leap.

I'm in LPN school right now,

I saw an ad for Cookeville last night for $10 per hour, that as they say is ridiculous! I work in Bristol as a CNA and make much more than that. LPN's are generally paid fairly low around East TN. $11.25 to $12 for new grad here, but across the border in NC it's $14 to $18 for new grads. More for people with experience.

Good luck, cost of living is cheaper, but it ain't $10 per hour cheap

Tony

I think at the Cookeville hospital, they are offering tuition reimbursement (or half up front and the other half reimbursed, maybe) for an LPN with L&D experience who wants to get her RN. I'm not 100% on that but it was something like that, anyway.
