Yeah I'm glad that land is finally being developed and surprised that it's taken this long.

I've noticed that Christy's on Interstate Drive has been closed, and there's a lot of demolition/renovation going on in its place. Any idea what's happening there?

The sports bar across from Boswell's Harley dealership has been closed and appears to be under renovation.
Interstate Plaza still hasn't a tentant yet. Wonder what's up with that ?

That wasn't a sports bar, it's a shop that sells uniforms, team gear, etc. They moved to Broad St

Thanks for that info. All I knew was that the place never seemed to be busy. A lot of people park over there when Boswell's has an activity going on.

It's Sports One...a bit of a local legend. Once upon a time in the mall, they sold a ton of Nikes.

That Interstate Center or whatever it's called has an interesting story; the main tenant (a Japanese Steakhouse) pulled out or couldn't deliver on their end of the lease. This same "tenant" couldn't deliver on their end of the lease midway during construction over at the group of businesses on Jefferson in front of UCHRA..what's that development called...Highland Square...or something or another? The Japanese steakhouse was situated where Hooligan's Half/Irish Pub is today...sans the koi pond.

I believe, if you look closely....the floors are not yet built out. I've always thought the restaurant space would be a good fit for a Sam's Sports Grill.

That place does seem like it would be a natural fit for any number of restaurants that don't need drive-thrus. Five Guys, Qdoba, Panera, Panda Express. With all the growth happening and about to happen, I can't imagine that this eyesore will remain empty for long. I'm pretty sure it's been sitting there for a year, finished but empty (the outside at least). I don't get it. Maybe they're asking some exorbitant amount in rent? I can't imagine that the property taxes in that part of town are cheap.

Panda Express and Panera have been building standalone locations with drive thru's lately. I think that location is too far west for one of those chains. Needs a destination type to succeed there. Chuck E Cheese for example. Cici's was asking people if they would still go if they were over there. I'd love a good sports bar in there.

Oh yeah I could see CiCi's over there. Where they are now is pretty crowded. I'd still like to know what's going on over at the former Christy's place (or whatever it was most recently called).
