That's what I've seen, the new Panera stores in Florence, AL and in Gallatin are drive thrus, and the new Panda House stores in Lebanon and Gallatin are drive thrus.

I would prefer a Jonathan's Grille (Jonathan's builds there concept from the ground up) over Sam Sports Grill (Sam's has rehabbed at least one of their stores from its previous lessee, e.g. Sam's in Florence, AL renovated the Demos' building); but Jonathan's is probably a bit more high end (perception-wise) for Cookeville. But both were named in the top 101 sports bars in the country. Jonathan's pizza is better, IMO, but Sam's pizza is delicious as well.

I've been looking forward to this one since I first heard about it. Rodney Laulo, the owner/chef at the excellent Back Room Bistro in downtown's Westside, is opening up his food truck this Friday July 3 on North Washington Ave across from Premier Medical Park about 2 blocks north of the courthouse square. Called Caney Fork Food Truck, Rodney is using food grown and raised by local farmers which he's calling "Farm to Fork." He'll also have his food truck at local events such as the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and the Summer Splash 5K.

So far his web site is pretty sparse but hopefully it'll eventually have a menu. If it's anywhere near as good as his Back Room Bistro, it'll be worth the drive into town to try it.

Bojangles... Biscuits and Chicken, Biscuits and Beans, Biscuits and Biscuits.... I make better biscuits at home for pennies. Why would I pay for them????

My fave is still JD's Prime Rib Steak. Something you rarely, if ever, make at home, and comes with a baked potato the size of a football. What's not to love?

A Bojangles opened in Soddy-Daisy recently, close enough for me to try it out. Wasn't impressed with the biscuits either.

I lived in Charlotte NC in the late 70s when Bojangles was just getting started. We always loved getting food from there. Then it got sold to Horn and Hardart in 1981 and they rapidly expanded it. With subsequent changes of ownership, I've not been impressed with the food. We have one here where I live and I have been there once in about ten years.

Any idea why Applebee's has suddenly closed? It can't be for lack of business.

The olds Sweet T's will be reopening as Anchor Down Bar and Grille. Looks like they use to be in Byrdstown. They have a Facebook page they says late summer opening They were putting up a billboard on Interstate Dr this afternoon right near there.
