It really is. It doesn't look like it'll be much longer before they open up. It'll be a nice addition to Restaurant Row.

Any word on what's happening with the old Applebee's building? I've not seen any for rent/lease signs on it so I figure either it's already got a new tenant lined up or they don't want to rent to locals.

I'd guess nothing is going on there.

Rib City catered an event we were at back in late June, they said plans were to open early November. They look to be on track for that. Anchor Down Facebook page still says opening late summer, not gonna make that, but hopefully they'll be opening soon as well.

We ate at Rib City yesterday. Asked the waitress when the new one will open and she said around December.

My wife and I used to frequent Love's Barbecue in California until they suddenly closed in ~2007. The wife loved Love's and never found another restaurant that came close until we tried Rib City. We have been to Rib City several times now and consider it one of our local favorites. The new location will make the experience better on one hand but then they will probably gain customers making it more crowded.

But as long as they keep the daily specials ... like the 50 cent beer night ... I will live with a few more people.

$.50 beer...? When did they double their prices?

Checked out Anchor Down's online prescence....looked a bit PFG-IWCish. ..hope I am wrong about their menu. Their billboard on Interstate Drive is catchy. I do hope they know folks will think they're a Vanderbilt sports bar because of their name.

Too bad we don't have a large multi-business marina development on the north end of at Center Hill lake ... Anchor Down would be a natural on a big marina where you could have a water view. Watching the sunset while you dine would make the price easier to digest.

Have you eaten at the Cookeville Boat Dock? It's nowhere near as fancy as what the Anchor Down looks like. But it's a nice little floating restaurant on the north shore of Center Hill Lake that serves awesome (and fresh!) catfish.
