Originally The Obscure....then Jackson Street Grill. I've heard Fiesta Cancun will open a second location there.

Oh that's cool. I've never been to Fiesta Cancun, in fact I had to look it up to see where it's located. Cinqo Amigos is usually my go-to place for Mexican in Cookeville although I've got friends who swear by Pueblo Viejo. I'll have to try Fiesta Cancun. If they're opening a 2nd location they must be doing something right.

Fiesta Cancun has the best spicy salsa in town--their avocado habanero salsa is outstanding. They also don't use lard in anything. Pretty awesome place!

The chili cookoff's are popular ... why not a city sponsored Mexican food cookoff to raise funds for locals in need?

These folks were staunch El Tapatio patrons; I, like JMT, prefer Cinqo Amigos (although El Magueyal on 10th Street is pretty darn good); however, I keep hearing about the salsa, Monster burrito and the 5' burrito at Fiesta Cancun, and I know someone who drives 50 miles on occasion to visit the spring Street establishment.

For Fiesta Cancun to be doing so well and be so far outside of town it must be good. Sounds like I should give it a try. And seriously, a 5 foot burrito??

I like Romo's Mexican (crossville). Always busy. Very friendly. Puts the places here to shame. I went to one here after returning. It was a depressing experience. I eat out more there bc it's actually an enjoyable experience. I hope the area doesn't turn into what other places I've moved on from. Tired of moving.

I may be getting the name wrong. I know where it is, just used google maps, it said Romo's. Not sure I remember that being the name.
