I will always contend that a Mellow Mushroom needs to be on the Westside; Corporate prefers their MM locations be in such locations with historic buildings and districts, e.g. Chattanooga, Tuscaloosa, AL; and Decatur, AL.

Although a cookie cutter MM rather than no MM at all would suffice.

I vote for Red Robin . I did not think that piece of property would remain empty after Eagle Pointe got started.

I think we're going to see a lot more restaurants pop up in that corridor as Eagle Pointe gets going. I know the lot along Interstate Drive next to Cumberland Court sold a couple of weeks ago for a cool half million which will probably be developed soon. I'm hoping for a Culver's.

Maybe a MM will be part of the retail/restaurant space included in the new downtown hotel/conference center. Downtown, especially the Westside, really needs more restaurants.

I doubt it. Typically Hilton Garden Inns have their own small restaurant/lounge as part of their branding.

Great American Cookies has opened a location in Cookeville in the same space as Marble Slab Creamery. That's a lot of sweet delicousness in one location. It's in the same building as Honeybaked Ham Café and CiCi's Pizza, at the southwest corner of Willow and Jackson across from Staples.

Demos' (Dee...muh...sis). Wish it were going to be a Peter D's, but people will love it regardless....cause they do, I've never been a fan, but Demos' is going into expansion mode.

Is that solid information? It'll make my wife pretty happy if true.

Oh I know a lot of people who will be happy if it's a Demos'. I've only been to the one in downtown Nashville and thought it was pretty good. I think the original is in Murfreesboro? Anyway, their locations are Clarksville, downtown Nashville, Hendersonville, Lebanon, and Murfreesboro. I'd not heard of Peter D's but looked them up, and it looks like a more upscale version of Demos' (only location is in Murfreesboro) which I think I'd rather have in Cookeville, too. But, really, I think Demos' is a good, popular place that should do well. I'm looking forward to seeing how they'll transform the old Applebee's building. Or maybe they're just going to knock the whole thing down and start from scratch.

Well apparently it's not Demos' after all. The building was sold to Romos Mexican Grill out of Crossville. That's very disappointing.
