That's an awesome response JMT! Thank you so much! Looking forward to our trip in August, Lord willing.

Plan on eating at Crawdaddy's upon our arrival tomorrow afternoon. My fear is that it will be so busy we will have to wait forever to get a table. What can we expect for a Friday evening, say around 5:00? We have a 7+ hour trip and surely don't want to have to wait a long time before eating. Then again, it may be worth the wait.

5:00 should be easy...especially downstairs.....upstairs might be crowded...but I doubt there would be any wait time that early for a table upstairs. Enjoy.

Excellent. Yeah, I figured if we got there around 5:00, we should be alright, but needed to inquire anyway, as I have never been there. Looking forward to it!

It looks like Cookout is going in where the old water slide used to be (for the old timers who remember that from back in the 70s-80s). I wish they'd start construction SOON.

Cumberland Business Journal

On another note, I wonder who bought the property next to the liquor store on Interstate Drive across from the U-Haul place and Chili's. Prime restaurant location.

Whew! Finally made it to Cookeville this afternoon at 4:30 on the nose after a 7 hour trip. Went straight to Crawdaddy's to eat. After getting all my family rounded up, we sat down around 5:15. Not busy at all. They seated us immediately with a party of 9. But, it got really busy around 6:00. Everyone's dish was really good. I had the blackened catfish and it was great. I wish I could have sampled everything on the menu. My wife had the grilled rib-eye steak. It was very flavorful and tender. Man, was there a lot of traffic. Of course, it was around 4:30. So glad we finally made it!

I'm so old I had all but forgotten about that water slide. Now I feel old.

And Friday I'm assuming by the date of your post. Friday traffic is awful. Most evenings aren't as bad.

Yes, it was Friday afternoon. Traffic was also busy the other days we were there, but certainly not as bad as Friday afternoon. We got caught in Nashville rush hour traffic coming and going. That was no fun.
