I think a lot of folks were complaining about the weekend traffic....a product of the sales tax free weekend I would presume.

Cumberland Business Journal
I was in town today and drove down Jefferson and saw that they've started construction at the Cookout site. It doesn't look like a very big site so, unfortunately, I'm afraid this means it'll be just a drive-thru Cookout.

Rib City is building a new restaurant next to Interstate Liquors on Restaurant Row. I just drove by there today and saw the sign. I assume they'll be moving from their Jackson Street location to the new one as opposed to having two locations in Cookeville. I'm attaching a picture of the sign. The picture is blurry, sorry about that, but it looks like it'll be a nice looking building.

Also, the Cook Out site is looking larger and larger. Maybe it'll be a full service restaurant after all and not just a drive-thru.

This place opened quickly...when I drove by yesterday I had to do a double take in disbelief that it was open already.

Oh that is good to know! I'm going to be in Cookeville later this afternoon. I think I'll stop by there for a Cookout Style burger and a peanut butter fudge banana shake.

Cookout was hopping. The dual drive thru lanes were packed, and there was a long line at the walk-up window which is where I went. Interestingly, every single person in line expressed frustration when they got to the window that there's not a lobby (indoor seating), not even picnic tables outside. The girl working at the window agreed that corporate made a blunder when they opted for just a stupid drive-thru. Still, the burger was delicious, and the shake was perfect. This is going to become my default fast food stop whenever I'm in town.
