Default Enjoyed the stay!

We ate at the Dipsy Doodle's for breakfast the Saturday before Thanksgiving. I had a western omelette with a side of biscuits and chocolate gravy. I have to tell you...it was wonderful. My hubby had the pork tenderloin and egg on a biscuit. He said it was the best he ever had.

We ate lunch at The Soup Kettle (?) in downtown. It was very good.

For dinner we ate at the Gondola. We had the "special" pizza. I was a little surprised; the toppings were all sauteed together and baked on a crust with no tomato sauce and very little cheese. I guess I should have asked how it was prepared!!! It was good, but not what I thought I was getting.

We stayed with friends who took us to the usual places, too. Cheddars, Longhorn, and Chilis. We are planning a trip in January and the hubby has promised to try more places on the list.

JMT: Is it you that stays at the Alpine Lodge off of exit 290? The view from there is extremely beautiful. Thanks again for all the recommendations.

Yes, I love the Alpine Lodge! The people who run it are super friendly (retirees from Austria), and the views are great. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I'm also tickled that you liked the Dipsy Doodle. It's gooood, isn't it? I'm sorry you didn't enjoy Gondola very much. Next time, try Mama Rosa's. Its pizzas are amazing (in my opinion).

Let us know about your trip in January so we can give you some more tips if you want. I'm glad you had a good time in my favorite town!
