Well, I was just about to reserve a place at Alpine Lodge, but decided against it because my Mom and Dad are going to be joining us in Cookeville. So, looking for a cabin that we can go in on and all stay at. Does anyone know of any cabin rentals that are recommended or websites that I can take a look at? Nothing fancy, but enough room for 6 folks. Thanks guys!

There are a couple of state parks in the Cookeville area that have cabins. You might want to give them a try:
Edgar Evins State Park (just west of town on the shores of Center Hill Lake)
Standing Stone State Park (just north of town between Cookeville and Dale Hollow Lake)

Yeah, I looked at both of the state parks. Edgar Evins State Park really didn't have anything large enough, and Standing Stone was just a little bit farther than I wanted. Trying to keep it within 20 minutes of Cookeville. I have found some cabins around the area but most are booked up. I will keep searching...Thanks!

It has never taken me more than 20 minutes to get to Standing Stone from Cookeville.

If you do end up at Standing Stone, beware of the speed trap in the Hilham area. I think the speed limit goes from 55 to 35 rather suddenly, and the Overton County sheriff's department keeps a watchful eye on that intersection.
