When you click on the link though it still says 219,984 under the Property Features of page 1. I see it has the demographics updated to show 2017 projections.

I heard a hearing is going to be scheduled in April.

City opens Envision Cookeville priority ranking to community | Herald Citizen?

Yes...the contradiction I pointed out was the difference in sf on Browning's website.

Just came across an interesting, but off the point piece of information. In knowing that the Publix store to be a a part of the Shoppes of Eagle Pointe is around 40,000 sq ft, I found out that one of the grocery stores we used to shop at when we lived in Illinois, Woodmans, is the largest grocery store in the US at 252,345 sq ft. That's about the same size as the entire development here. It's a little deceiving because it includes the liquor store, which by itself is the same size as the Publix. I do miss shopping here.

With the forthcoming change to the way the state is allowing the sale of alcohol on July 1; stores like Woodmans will come to Tennessee, e.g. Total Wine & More is opening two stores in the Nashville area, and I believe these stores are 20,000 to 30,000 square feet. I certainly enjoyed the cheese selection at Spec's in Houston.

Keep in mind, this is second hand information. I was told that "the meeting" was scheduled for "the end of the month," and "the decision" was expected to be in the favor of the developers with groundbreaking next month as well as there are seventeen stores under contract.

Not sure how reliable the number seventeen is, but that is the number quoted to me. The time frame of "the meeting" does fit....the earlier news that it would be 120 days until TDEC rendered a decision.

Let's see, the ones announced so far:
  1. Publix
  2. Academy Sports + Outdoors
  3. Ross
  4. Michael's
  5. ULTA
  6. Shoe Carnival
  7. Five Below
  8. Panera
  9. Chipotle

That means, if the rumors you heard are true, that there are 8 more who've signed up. Between Browning and CHM, they've done developments in other places that have included Five Guys, Lane Bryant, Qdoba, Yankee Candle, McAlister's, Chico's, Great Clips, Uncle Maddio's, and others I can't think of at the moment. This is exciting to think about. And if I were the betting kind, I'd bet that the rumors you heard are true.

This is good news, I'm hoping for some official update soon! The Krispy Kreme announcement really got several people asking for updates for Publix and the Interstate Dr. Development.

Me too. I was a student at Ole Miss when the original McAlister's opened in Oxford MS. I probably ate there once a week, at least. I don't know why the one in Cookeville closed. It always seemed pretty busy. Here's hoping they're able to come back. Maybe being attached to a regional shopping center like this will help.
