First time I laid eyes on Academy Sports was in Mt. Juliet. Looked like a large store. Since a distribution center is coming to Cookeville, I wonder if a store will also? Maybe in the new Shoppes at Eagle Pointe??

Today I heard that Publix is a go for this development....of course....this isn't a done deal, but the "for sale" sign is down for this land on Interstate Drive. The other anchor is possibly Academy Sports...makes since because of their investment just west of town.

Interesting as well....Super Kroger is supposedly still planned for Northeast near Old Kentucky Road and 10th Street or so.

Whoa, that is awesome!! Any word on a potential timeline? That land on Interstate Drive really is ripe for development. So is the land on 10th Street/Old Kentucky Road, for that matter.

The development company states either Spring '15 or that construction will start in the Spring. Exciting if it happens.

One commercial brokerage site states Summer 2015....and that it is Proposed/Under Construction. Another site states Under Construction. I think this will really happen....just hope they get great tenants.

Yesterday, I found out (secondhand) from a PE that Publix is not a go for this spot....drainage issues...which makes no sense to me...there are retention ponds and drainage infrastructure for this project built in.

This PE said that Publix was searching for land in Cookeville....this PE also said only weeks ago that Publix was a go for Jackson Street next to Kohls...which is old and incorrect news....so I am not sure how reliable this information is.

All of the land studies were previously done before the development company decided to come along. I'm not sure if the PE is accurate on that.
