Publix has announced a store in Tullahoma indeed. The 45,800-square-foot supermarket at Northgate Mall is projected to open by late 2018. Both Publix #1634 and the Northgate Mall store could open around the same time depending on construction.

I am noticing Publix is further expanding in Tennessee into cities where supermarket BI-LO previously had stores in the 1990's and 2000's. There are some cities where BI-LO (and Red Food) had stores where Publix is yet to enter:
  • Athens
  • Columbia
  • Decherd (Red Food)
  • Farragut
  • Fayetteville
  • Lawrenceburg
  • Lewisburg (Red Food)
  • Manchester
  • Maryville
  • McMinnville
  • Pulaski
  • Shelbyville
  • Soddy Daisy

Splitting hairs, but the Publix in Turkey Creek (#1415) is within the Farragut city limits, even though it is listed as Knoxville, TN online. It is surprising to me that they have not built a store in Maryville/Alcoa yet. I suppose the location at Northshore is not far away.

There are many areas and cities in Tennessee Publix is yet to enter (i.e. Memphis). Having a new distribution center with a high velocity warehouse in McCalla, Alabama, Publix could be in position to open and support additional stores in Tennessee. Publix #1634 could be among the additional stores.

I hope court goes well with Paddock today and they dismiss and close this case.

I believe "dismissed with prejudice" means the plaintiff (Paddock) is forbidden from filing another lawsuit over this.

Dismissal With Prejudice | Nolo.com

The above ruling does allow a 15-day window for appeal. But geez I hope Paddock will finally throw in the towel and just admit defeat and go home.

I heard Browning was told to go ahead with construction and even if an appeal if filed from him, he won't win and no one will overturn the decision. Good news!
