Well, no better time for a Publix run than today...as we won't be doing so anytime soon in Cookeville it appears. Time to prepare a list....

Any new store Publix is announcing now could open in late 2018 at the earliest or in 2019. The longer it takes for the Shoppes at Eagle Point to be announced, the likelihood of Publix opening in 2019 increases.

I noticed a dumpster sat next to the construction trailer today....is that new, for show, for action...I wonder? Or had it previously been there?

No...easily spotted driving by...looks like a 30 yard or larger dumpster. The dumpster is situated on the northside of the construction trailer.

Hopefully it isn't there to haul away our dreams of a Publix opening in Cookeville.

I drove by there today and finally had a chance to see what you were talking about. I agree, I don't think it was there before a few days ago. Maybe they're starting to clean up the garbage that was dumped in that shrinking wetland. I recall a photo published of that wetland that showed what looked like trash--an old bicycle, drum barrel, other debris. I hope this means they're finally about to get started on this thing.
