Academy Sports + Outdoors is having walk-in interviews for those wanting to work at its new store. It'll be August 15-16, 8-4, in front of its new store in Shoppes at Eagle Point. Many are part-time, but they need full-time workers, too. They're also accepting applications online with about 90 openings for Cookeville (store and distribution center, full- and part-time):

Baskin Robbins is moving to Eagle Point which makes me happy. The parking situation at their current location is lousy. From what I understand, it'll also be a larger store.

The crowd on hand for the grand opening of Publix was "one of the largest" Publix has ever had.
Also, apparently Five Below is already opened even though its official grand opening won't be until Friday.

We went after 2 pm and it was still a very busy place. Found what we went after and got out of the way. Nice store. Got to spend a few minutes with the grocery section manager and inquire about some special products. Very friendly were everyone we encountered. That's a Publix mantra. The long time subtitle for a store has always been "Where Shopping is a Pleasure" and it still was.

I'd say Five Below decided to open a couple days early to catch some of that Publix crowd. Might as well if you are ready to open anyway.
