We love the Cookeville area, my daughter lives closeby. A beautiful lake area is about 17 miles west- Center Hill Lake. We are looking for a nice rv park, somewhere in the Cookeville, Gainesboro area where we could own the lot. Does anyone have any ideas?

Theres an RV park over in Baxter at the Twin Lakes Catfish farm, right off the interstate but far enough away to not hear it. Should do for a short term handout.

We did hear of the catfish place, but it is a rental and very pricey for what it offers. We were thinking of more of a deeded lot, like there are so many of in other retirement areas. Thanks for the replies!

Default Floating Mill

Floating Mill is located on Center Hill Lake, near Smithville off Exit 370 (?) of I-40. It's about 30 minutes from Cookeville. Center Hill is operated by the Army Corps of Engineers

That's a beautiful area. I've been to Floating Mill several times to go swimming. I never stayed at the campground, but it always looked nice. I wouldn't hesitate to camp there.

We love Floating Mill also, it is very close to my daughter's, but it has a two week stay limit. What we are interested in is something semi-permanent. There are RV lots in many states that you own and people build decks, sheds, etc. on their own lot. We have not found anything like that in TN. It is more of a resort campground, privately owned. Has anyone found a nice, reasonable place to rent for vacations in the area? We go there a lot to see those grandchildren!

Have you checked into Dale Hollow in Byrdstown? About an hour from Cookeville.
