PUTNAM COUNTY -- The animal control officers at the Putnam Sheriff's Department are accustomed to insiders ribbing them by reporting a giraffe or a zebra roaming the rural areas here.

"Very funny," they say, and go on about their business.

I kinda hate they "put it down" though. Heck I would've volunteered to xport it to either Chattanooga or Gatlinburg to one of the aquariums.
Or even to Florida next month to one of the gator parks when I go down.

Now I'm not a HUGE bleeding heart for animals. But putting it down due to the cost of relocating it didn't take much thought.

Does anybody think one of the nearby aquariums would've taken it? That's one tank of gas...

Yeah I thought the same thing. It doesn't sound like they tried very hard to get the little guy to someplace safe.

That does sound familiar. Is that one of those carnivore fish like piranhas?

Isn't that stupid? There's not an s anywhere near the name but people want to put one there all the time.

But that's funny that this made the news in L.A.! Maybe someone out there will make it into a movie.
