They have come a long way baby since I delivered there. I was there with my x dil 6 yrs ago. The gson was a month early and had to be sent to vandy after delivery. As I remember the nurses and staff were professional, helpfull and kind but IMO the facilities are still behind the times in the obgyn.
My newphew was delivered in Overton Co. 13 yrs. ago and they had birthing rooms then that were homey and more relaxing. They even brought in the stuff and delivered in the birthing room. Cookeville is still somewhat clinical. At least they dont put you in the closet and call it recovery anymore.

The OB dept has been completely redone @ CRMC in the last few years. It's now the nicest anywhere in the area IMO. I know several families who've delivered there recently & everyone of them have nothing but good things to say about the entire experience.

Thats good to hear. When I had my first there in the late 70's they still had those beds you had to adjust with a hand crank at the foot of the bed.

BTW, Congrats on the new baby!

I know this won't help you since you're expecting in April, but today's Herald-Citizen has an article about how the new $80 million tower that was just completed at the Cookeville hospital means they're now going to be able to expand their very busy OB department. 1500 babies were born there last year, and with 2 gynecologists leaving Crossville's hospital they expect more births in Cookeville's hospital.

Herald-Citizen Online Edition - Cookeville, TN

And good luck with your baby!

well, that is good that they are going to expand it... we are trying to decide if this is the last baby or if we have one more, so maybe i will still get to use it, lol. thanks for the article

Delivered three babies at Cookeville - youngest is 12. No problems at all! Very knowledgable and patient nurses!
