2mares, if you wouldn't mind, would you care sending me your details exactly how you do your tomato juice? Apart from consuming them, all I thought of for mine was tomato sauces for pasta, but juice would be awesome for Chili actually - So any detailed advise I'd be very thankful for :-)

Right now my garden is about 12-13ft long and 7-8ft deep (Its as deep as 3x the big kioti tractor box on the back) I know its not big at all compared to most folks out here, but I'm the only vegetarian and hubby don't care too much for "the green stuff". Figured I'd start with this size, see how it works for me and adjust learning curve from there next year.

Ok, I thought about potatoes too BUT to be honest, the ones I don't eat right away, how could I best conserve them then, wouldn't want to plant and then go rotten. I know its prop too late now, but at least I'd then know what else to do next year?

Dang where did my post go now?
2mares, if you don't mind would you share details on making the juice? Thought about using my left over tomato's for sauce but juice would be awesome for chili if I knew how to do it right.

My garden right now is about 12-13 ft long and about 7-8ft deep (3 row's deep of the box on the back of the big kioti tractor). Which I know its not big at all for folks around here, but its really only me being vegetarian, hubby don't care too much for "the green stuff". Figured I'd start with that size and go from there next year.

See I was wondering/ wanting potatoes too, but they produce so much and I only eat so much at one time, how would I then best conserve the rest? I mean now its prop too late to plant some anyway, but at least I'd know for next year. My Grandma always kept her's in the basement, cool, dark place in a old wooden box, but I don't have no old house with no cool dark basement now !?

I will dm you, but you can pick up a ball blue book that has great illistrations, photos and directions for canning. Home canned tomato juice is great for chili and I put it in stew also.
