Hello all! We are planning to visit Port A in a few weeks. Some neighbors of ours went a week after Alex and right before the last tropical disturbance went through, and said that the beach was full of seaweed, and that the water was full of garbage (maybe kicked up by Alex?). Can anyone update the beach conditions? I would very much appreciate it! Many thanks.

Here now the water is brown from waves and the beach has seaweed. It doesn't seem to be slowing anyone down. No jellyfish.

The last time I was here I remember clear water. This brown water is just like Galveston and ruins swimsuits. I am going to check out the Rockport beach in the bay today. No waves but hopefully clearer water.

I did ask a local boat captain and he said the water is usually bluer this time of year and expects it will turn blue in the upcoming weeks.

I had my best luck driving from entrance 0 down to 18 and watching the surf. In a few sections the surf was actually green water so we played there.
