Love to vacation there. It's a nice little coastal community and it's not as crowded as Port Aransas. It used to be a bargain to live there, but now I think prices are starting to skyrocket.

I am somewhat surprised that opinions and feelings about a metropolitan area are so particular to the city limits of each city around Corpus. I think of Corpus Christi as a metro area comprised of a 50 mile radius of downtown, including Rockport-Fulton, Odem, Stinton, Portland, Gregory & Robstown. Not sure why one would be so down on Corpus but so positive about Rockport. The towns mentioned above are merely "suburbs" of the Corpus metro area in my mind. Minneapolis-St Paul is made up of 7 counties, 24 "suburbs" and covers a 60 mile radius. Evidently residence dont look at Corpus that way but planners and developers (pvt and public officials) do and thats how cities grow, survive and compete. Guess I have my work cut out for me when I get to Corpus. Side note, the purchase on our future home in Calallen fell thru (sellers decided to stay awhile longer for health reasons) so we are in fact making an offer on a home in Rockport. If we move to Rockport we will still consider ourselves and tell peope we relocated to Corpus.
