Who knew (before reading this article) that Corpus has "only a handful" of salons?
They don't like sun/heat (but sell a product to fix that)
They don't like rain/humidity (but sell a product to fix that)
They don't like pollution or hard water (but sell a product to fix that)
Bottom line - they have a lot of products to sell.
All that said - hair is a challenge in the Corpus climate.

My wife had long hair for the 35 years we have been married, but 1 year in Corpus and she has it cut short, she tired of trying to fix and comb her hair constantly. I never had long hair, but keep it shorter in Corpus as well. If Corpus did not have the breezy and windy days most of the time, it would be miserable on humid, hot days.

When I lived in the Panhandle, the wind was so bad had to cut my hair short to survive! Ugh....

I have long naturally curly hair. I always say the wind in CC turns my hair inside out!
My hair loves humidity though. It makes it even curlier, which is a good thing for me.

I have very thick, straight hair and wore it very long when I lived in Corpus. Moved to Austin and within a couple of months, my hair was falling out in handfuls. It got to the point that I was really concerned about it. Turns out it was just the change in humidity.

I love the humidity here, as my skin is very dry. Plus, I wear my hair VERY short (see my profile pic), so I do not have any problem at all with bad hair days. Even the heat is well mitigated here, as the high humidity coupled with a good sea breeze makes it much more bearable.
