Does anyone know the laws about posting signs into the gound to advertise lessons taught inside? Are they allowed? If so, do they only have a certain amount of time they can be placed into the ground?

Also, does anyone know the best places in town, to place flyers pertaining to the lessons, to get the word out?

Thanks.

Call the City Engineer or building official and ask them:

Employee Directory (http://www.portlandtx.com/employeeDirectory.cfm - broken link)

Portland is a small town, chances are it does not have many development restrictions, so there may be no restrictions at all regarding signs other then you can't put them in the public ROW.

To my knowledge, Portland is fairly strict about signage. In particular, with Garage Sale signs (you have to get a permit from the City Admin office). I would DEFINATLEY go to where you pay your Water Bill (on Billy G Webb Dr, next to the Police Dept), and ask about it. You don't want to get fined!

Thanks. Yes, being fined is one that I did not want nor do I want the signs taken up, as they cost $ to produce.

Will check into those options.

Thanks.
