My wife and I are thinking of moving to the Corpus area. I lived there back in the early 80's and always loved the area. We are concerned about the high crime rates but, our main concern is about insurance. We have been trying to find out how much the home insurance runs on a home that runs around $150,000 especially the wind and hail insurance. Without having an address and certain other information we can not seem to find out what an average price for the wind and hail insurance runs. We will be working for a few more years but, we want to make sure that after we retire we will still be able to afford to stay in the area. If any one could please let us know roughly how much this insurance runs it would be greatly appreciated.:

Insurance on a $150,000 house, depending on many factors, would probably be in the $1,500 to $2,000 range, including windstorm coverage. You might contact a real estate agent to get a more accurate estimate.
