Corpus Christi Bayfront---why deserted? (live, beach, bicycling)

We spent time in Corpus Christi several years ago and fondly remember walking the Bayfront and Ocean Drive. We recall there being a fair amount of people walking, lovers strolling, others jogging, bicycling, and fishing the Bayfront.

We have been observing the Corpus Christi's Visitor's Bureau's Bayfront webcam that is located at IH37 and the Bayfront. We have observed this webcam over the several months. It appears that the Bayfront is almost always deserted with very little vehicular traffic, no one walking, jogging, or bicycling. Almost no traffic, few parked cars.

We could understand not using this area during periods of intense heat and humidity, but there appears to be little use of this area no matter what the season.

Is there some reason why this beautiful Bayfront seems so deserted? I would think tourists would flock to this area, and that staff from businesses adjacent to the Bayfront would be out in the sun during mild weather, at least, walking, jogging, whatever. But , no one...?

Yes because the camera is at the end of the bayfront.. the highway 37 I think it is ends and starts where that camera is.. if you could look the other way, something they dont have on egov baycam.. all you see is up the connector to 37, the water, the docks, or the Convention center, that dead ends at the end of bayfront right there. They dont show you down the other way where all the traffic is... walkers joggers and so forth. Just got back from there, and its still alive and hopping. Most tourist are heading to the Island, it has lots more to offer now than it did several years ago. Hope that helps answer your question.

What Muhnay said is right. Most of the foot traffic is down around the beach by the Holiday Inn and the T-Heads. There are lots of people out there in the evenings and on the weekends. There are some people out at the end where the camera is, but not as many.
