Just a recommendation... If you are looking at both Corpus and Alice, drop Alice! Its a smaller town and traffic is horrible due to the oilfield. Half of the population speaks spanish and personally, I think its kind of dirty. I hate the town. I used to work for an oilfield company based there and was there daily. Corpus is only 35-55 miles away depending on what part of town you are living in.

Pleasington, San Antonio, and Victoria are all nice. Victoria has a larger black population percentage than Corpus but is a much smaller city. Pleasington is a smaller town 25 miles south of San Antonio and is predominantly white. San Antonio is the 7th largest city in the US. I dont know how you feel about living in a large metropolitan area as opposed to smaller to mid sized cities.
Pleasanton might be "pleasing", but I think that the town is called "pleasanton".

I grew up in Corpus Christi and I can say that in my childhood all races and combinations of races were picked on equally. Your son is thirteen, so he will most definitely get picked on because middle school children are the devil and will pick on you for anything. But I don't think there is actually too much race tension between kids. As for adults, well I am only just twenty myself and don't understand older generations or the world in general all that well yet.

Hey Bidrco, I am not sure if you have made your move to Texas or not yet but come on down whatcha waiting for baby! Interracial people here in Texas is so common and very acceptable and people actually treat you better here than elsewhere I been. I don't think you are ever going to get dumb ass racist people to cease anywhere or any state but overall I think you will be happy and I will certainly be with open arms when you get here! So come on with your hubby and son and WELCOME TO THE LONE STAR STATE!!! I am here if you ever want to talk or have concerns!

My husband is black and I am white, we have 3 mixed boys ages 3, 9, 11 and my white daughter who is 16. Blended doesn't begin to describe our family. We are originally from Houston, TX and now live in San Antonio. I have lived in several places to have had some concern over our group, and San Antonio, Houston, Victoria, Missouri City, Bay-town, Corpus, Dallas, even Austin your gonna be just fine. So long as you don't carry a little chip on your shoulder about it cause so many others here are also a giant mix of only "God" knows what. We're all human here. Occasionally you'll get an idiot or two but don't give them the satisfaction of caring. Good luck, hope it helps.
