Makes me glad I am on Portland. I honestly thought jury duty was placed by your voters registration. I am going to have to look that one up.

It's as if they have a really shallow pool of prospects for jury duty in this county. I only got called about twice in the 7 years that I lived in San Antonio (Bexar Cty) and I always ignored the Los Angeles Cty (calif) summons when I lived there.

I believe they use both voter registration and driver's licence records. So I guess you'd have to sacrifice both your voting rights and driving privileges in order to guarantee you wouldn't be summoned. Don't know too many people who'd be willing to do that. I certainly wouldn't.... and no one should have to just to avoid that kind of harrassment. If you do look it up, let me know what you find out...thanks.

So you don't live in L.A. anymore then? How many times did you ignore a summons in L.A. Cty? Did you ever get in any trouble over it? Just curious...thanks.

Just moved back to Los Angeles. They summoned me At least twice. The way that I looked at it, the city of LA has so much turmoil that it couldn't possibly have the resources to go round up ppl that skip jury duty. They can't even keep the illegals out.
