Less than 10 percent of the shrimp eaten in the United Sates comes from wild harvests. [...] Over 90 percent of the shrimp eaten in the United States come from farmed sources grown in other countries around the world.
And while there are a lot of arguments for or against farm-raised shrimp, but they are currently much cheaper to produce than wild-catch.
