Local Man Attempts to Recall All Corpus Christi City Council Mem - KiiiTV3.com South Texas, Corpus Christi, Coastal Bend

Quote:
Ruben Morales has picked up petition sheets to recall Mayor Nelda Martinez, council members, Mark Scott, David Loeb and Lillian Riojas. He says he plans on getting enough signatures to recall all of them but Priscilla Leal.

Morales now has six months to get the required signatures to force a recall election. He'll need 15,000 signatures for at-large candidates and about 3,000 signatures for district candidates.
I don't know who Ruben Morales is, but I would like to meet him and sign some petitions. Corpus Christi has some pretty terrible leadership in city council.

They are tax and fee crazy, that is one thing for sure. But they are progressive and are helping the city grow at a faster pace than it has in decades. I really don't know who could, would, or even want to do the job better.

Corpus Christi is poorly managed and is growing in spite of the Mayor and her minions for the left side of the street.

The Revenue Fee to remedy the neglected city streets is Byzantine at best and criminal in application.

No Justice, No Peace.

Recall them all!

How do you propose we pay to fix our streets? We can't blame this council because they are fixing a problem they inherited from those before them. Our streets took decades of neglect to get to where they are. We currently have the best council CC has seen in years. Quit complaining and support them. This city is moving forward with or without you. Don't get in the way.

I live in Austin but also have a condo in Corpus. I can tell you that CC has a very good council many of there policies and economic development ideas they are literally copying from the city of Austin, which is consistently ranked one of the best places to live in the US, and is growing by leaps and bounds. I think one day Corpus could be the next Austin of Texas, with the right leadership it could literally become the most prominent city on the Gulf Coast.

Too bad utilities have skyrocketed over the last few months with the street user fee, gas increase, and water increase. I pay 50 dollars more a month now than I did in the fall.

The city leaders will raise property taxes and water fees for tourist attractions as long as they know the working people, can still afford bread and water. Wake up vote these people out.
