Anyone on here that resided or resides in Harlingen-Rio Hondo area (Lower Rio Grande Valley)?

Once again... Wrong forum... Harlingen is over two hours south of Corpus Christi and is in a totally different region within the state.

Having owned property on the south bank of the Arroyo Colorado, near Arroyo City, I say it's not only two hours south of CC . . . Harlingen, is in it's own time zone. Consider, Harlingen is but 10 miles from the Los Indios-Lucio Blanco Free Trade Bridge to Mexico. Harlingen is part of what is termed the Boarder-Plex which extends from Mission, TX to Brownsville. Speaking Spanish and knowing a bit about the local attitudes and history really helps in this area. Harlingen has an active barge canal port and railroad and is the convergence point for LRGV's highways.

I have several personal anecdotes with regard to Harlingen that might give some insight to an outsider.

They grow some great special lemons in the area . . .maybe the best lemons I've ever had.

Yes, yes. I know that. I grew up in Harlingen.

Harlingen, nor any other town in the Valley, is specifically listed on this City Data forum. The nearest-listed city to the Valley is Corpus Christi. Consequently, if I want to try to communicate with someone who knows about the Valley, I have to use the Corpus listing.

And geez! My most humble apology if you're upset.

Que tengas un buen fin de semana.

No you don't use the Corpus Christi forum looking for those who know about the Valley. You post it to the overall Texas forum, where people would be able to answer your questions.

By that analogy People looking to buy a home in Del Rio should post in the SA or El Paso forum, since those are the closest city.

Not upset, but it really shouldn't be that hard to grasp that Harlingen is nowhere near CC.
