Don't know about school but Craigslist is about the only place to find housig. There are apartment locator servies, mostly free to the consumer. But they will only steer you to the complexes that they get kickbacks from. We found both of our apartments and a room mate on CL. Be careful by not posting any identifying information, no pictures, and meet any prospective room mates in public places. If you meet up with someone who is going to shw you an apartment be sure to take someone with you. More than half of the apartments and people who met me to show apartments were very sketchy. They were thngs that were listed as a garage apartment or behind the main house. You might want to stay with one of the apartment complexes to start with since visiting their properties feels safer with more people around and meeting the staff in the office.
