Does anyone know when the new HS is going to ready? I had heard they wanted to be ready for the 2014 fall semester but I kinda doubt they'll make it.

I think it's supposed to open fall of 2015. And it's not going to be the new Carrol. The old Carrol is still going to be a high school and the new school will be Veterans Memorial and its mascot is the eagle.

Yes. The new school is not going to replace Carroll HS. Carroll HS will still continue to be used as a high school. The new high school will be Veterans Memorial HS.

This is from an article at Caller.com back in March:

"...but CCISD had initially planned to rebuild Carroll High School with a 2010 bond, but later determined enrollment growth required a sixth high school rather than a replacement campus."

The article goes on to explain that CCISD is looking at replacing another high school that is over 60 years old.

Veterans Memorial HS will open fall of 2015.

It is going to be impressive when its done. I live about a mile from it and the only thing I'm going to be annoyed about it is the inevitable Friday night pep rally/football season, that will be noisy. At my previous house we lived about the same distance from
Tulosa Midway HS and it was the same thing, on Friday nights we would have to go out to dinner and drinks to avoid the noise.

My wife thought it was the only saving grace for living there.
