A friend and myself were involved in an auto accident this week. Not our fault, guy blew a stop sign, he even admitted to the cops it was his fault. Anyways we are looking for a GOOD Auto Accident/Personal Injury Lawyer in Corpus/Kingsville. We just have some questions/concerns about the issue (not trying to go after the guy for tons of money, just want to make sure we don't get screwed by the insurance companies) and would like a lawyer we can consult with. Please share any recommendations, good or bad!! Thanks!

Default Think clearly on this first...

This is Texas...you are not going to get much, if you get anything at all.

If you have an older car, and the repairs are much more than the blue book value....start looking for a new car - the insurance company will simply condemn it, and send you blue book value.

Did you call an ambulance right away?..If not - forget about making any claims for injury later on.

There are lawyers that will make promises to you...but be careful. If they, or any chiropractor they send you to, ask you to sign forms...Ask them to give you every single form you will have to sign at the same time. Not one by one. And rad them at home...making sure that you are not personally responsible for treatments (in the event of no claim payment)

But don't get caught in a long and costly game.

The other person's insurance company, if he does admit guilt and it is clear on the police report, will hire an adjuster - and you will get an offer.

There are some very honest insurance companies - so if your car has value, and you bring the adjusters estimate to a reputable body shop (a reputable body shop) - the body shop will negotiate with the insurance company.

And that's about all you can expect.

If you are not hurt - why do you need a lawyer?...Save your money and/or time. See what the adjuster says, and go to a good body shop.

If it turns out the other insurance company is not so honest, you may then want to go to an attorney....But, like I said - don't get caught up in promises.

If that man has admitted that it was his mistake then definitely you will get the compensation for the injuries and property damage. To know more in details you need to contact a Personal injury lawyer. He will explain you and help you in this case.
