Shocked is the only thing I can think of. I don't remember Corpus being this dilapidated and run down as it seems to be now!

I remember Coopers Alley as the hot spot to be in the late 80's. Water Street Oyster Bar was always rock in'. What happened to SunRise Mall?

Graduated from Carroll HS, anybody still here from the class of 85?

I'm from King class of 81. Coopers Alley was always a hot spot. Much of the city has grown eastward beyond Saratoga and Airline. Sunrise Mall has been in disrepair for at least 10 years. The areas that were popular when I was in high school seem to be much less lively.

SPID and south now pretty much. Most bars and clubs are scattered across the southside. There is no concentrated area of bars and clubs.

Right now they are working on revitalizing downtown with the Chaparral St. project. I think once the new Cosmopolitan Lofts are done downtown, that will promote new businesses and clubs along Chaparral once again.

It could be a really nice, fun area, like a small 6th St, if the city really tries to promote it. Chaparral, Mesquite, and Water has a lot of potential to be a great, unique area, and make downtown live and thrive once again.
