We are a young couple moving to Corpus Christi. Looking to rent. Can anyone tell us about the 200 block of Doddridge or the 3300 block of Floyd. We are a young professional couple. I'm from the east coast. She is from the west coast. We both lived in upper middle class suburban neighborhoods. During college lived in small college towns. Looking for a friendly, relatively safe neighborhood. How far is the beach, nightlife, restaurants. We both have professional jobs although she works from home. Thanks for any info you can provide.

Something to consider, living on Doddridge you will have the din of road traffic. it's a busy street. I would prefer the Floyd St address. Floyd is not a through street past Alto Plaza. Although both locations are near Corpus Christi Bay . . .well it depends on your definition of 'beach'. I say the beach is on the east side of Padre Island. All things considered, both are relatively safe neighborhoods. I mention street noise since your wife works from home.

Both streets are in perfectly fine neighborhoods, but Doddridge is a busy four-lane road. I'd much rather live on Floyd.

From either house you'll be able to walk to the bayfront and you'll be about 20-25 minutes from Padre Island. Nightlife and restaurants will be anywhere from a few blocks away to a 15-minute drive.
