Just curious how the job market is in and around corpus? Is it fairly easy to get employment? I'm in Nevada now and the job market sucks. I had some friends move to rockport and try both secured jobs easily in corpus

Actually, Corpus has a booming economy right now, with the expansion of the Port, as well as the huge oil and natural gas industries. Lots of large companies are building along the port channel, and will only get bigger as time goes on. There are a lot of high paying jobs in those markets as well. You'd be wise to check it out.

The real number of lay-offs this month
Just between Gulf Marine in Aransas Pass and TIC Energy & Chemical Inc., in Freeport, Tx is a little over 1,000.
"The WARN report indicated TIC Energy & Chemical Inc., in Brazoria County, also would lay off 500 people at its Freeport location by the end of the month."

Rust is right ,totally practical and in the know ( he and I both miss the old long gone coastal bend sadly and fondly with Walter Furley at noon ) I was born there but left for THE last time 5 years ago and my oldest daughter (22) has finally had it in Aransas Pass and is going back to California realizing coming back to AP was a mistake. Sizzler sure does love it there for sure but sometimes I wonder if we are even talking about the same place ( Sizzler and I ) ?? I am 53 and wouldn't buy anything anywhere at this point in my life and I am in good shape , but I SURE would not buy anything in CC until you've been there awhile in case you DO decide to go . I promise any rental money would not be wasted should you feel the need to vacate asap .

I always buy when I relocate, because of my animals. I have a lot of animals of all kinds. I also don't believe in being where anyone can tell me what to do with my land, so I don't move where there are a lot of rules about how many animals or what kinds you can have or that won't let you irrigate. I usually live out a ways from cities and towns. I don't want anyone in my business. I've never lost money on a house yet. I usually make a lot of money when I sell, which I use to get the next house.
