Hi - I am planning to visit corpus christi during this coming week from Austin. I would like some suggestions as to what I can do with kids of middle school age for a day and half. Is there anything to do on the thanksgiving day ?

thanksgiving day I'd hit the aquarium or the movies. People tend to do either that or watch football or go shopping. There aren't a ton of special events since it's a holiday but there is a college basketball tournament over the weekend. If your kids like pirates there is a pirate cruise out of Port A where you go on the ship and the crew is all dressed as pirates and tell pirate history. Called the Red Dragon I haven't been but hear its pretty fun. Saturdays at the art center they have a family art event where you make some piece of art and get to take it home, very kid friendly. Also nutcracker is playing at the ballet but I'm unsure if they are sold out. Good event calendar here Event Search Results | Caller Times Events - Eventful Scrape= If the weather is nice there is a skate park and huge jungle gym at kid's place in Cole Park on the bayfront. Beach is also a possibility if weather is good.
